Meal prepped tonight some chicken and rice. All weighted out exactly the same. , 4oz chicken and 130g rice. Then all I need to do when I’m ready to eat is add seasoning and a veggie. I also have overnight oats in the frig. I add protein powder to that after I heat it in the morning.

Attended a luncheon where I had already specified the Cobb salad and I was really looking forward to. It was so good. And it was also good for dinner since I was able to only eat half! Which was the perfect amount. I wasn’t too full or sleepy or lethargic. This is a big deal for me as portions eating out are hard for me. Especially…Read More

Since nutrition compliance is part of part two, I thought I would share this meal I made to dinner that was so easy to customize for different portion sizes since I’m currently in a deficit.
I made my own tortilla chips in the air fryer to save on cals & made nachos with ground turkey! Under 500 cals and was super good.

With all the rain we’ve had the last 2 days I haven’t been able to be outside at all. It was pretty warm and sunny this afternoon so I had planned on going for a walk after work… and then just about the time I finished work it started pouring and hasn’t really let up. I’m over the rain, we need to dry out for a while 🙂 my nutrition part of the ch…Read More

With everyone that did the 30 Day Challenge, Part 1 and those who have started Part 2 – I have a question.
Have you taken time to recognize and reflect on how showing up for yourself allows you to show up better or differently for the people in your life?
If so, how? I’d love to hear!
-
What came to mind instantly was how I don’t feel like a hypocrite anymore when talking to my daughter about responsibilities. 😄 But I’m not sure that’s exactly what you meant. I’m going to give this a little more thought and see what other ways I have shown up better.
-
I think for me – I felt like because I committed to myself and did things that made me feel good and happy inside, and push myself… i felt so much more able to show up for others in my life. Being more present also because I was prioritizing my time better. I also would incorporate my goals with my son, and I felt like it allowed us to spend a…Read More

I am so thankful that I strength train and run. I went hiking this morning and the trail was steep, rocky, and unstable. Heading down the trail I lost control of myself and took a tumble down the side. At 50 yrs old, I came out with only a few scratches on my legs. I was able to pop back up. My pride took the biggest hit. Fitness does pay off 🙂

So glad you are okay and I agree – fitness and strength is so important in our lives!

Jennifer!!! the benefits of taking care of yourself hahaha! glad you’re ok

My nutrition goal is hitting my protein every day. I very rarely get this so perfect. I’ll go grab a little cottage cheese for 1 more gram.

We still have posting as a requirement for 30 Strong Part 2. We forgot to add it to the daily quizzes. We will be adding that back in. It helps hold ourselves accountable and makes things more fun!
We especially want to see all your fun activities you choose to do outdoors!

The power of the morning walk!
I have been starting my work day at 10 am with 10k steps for the past 2 weeks and it is making such a difference. The focus has been to get back in control of something I can do, that I enjoy, and that I benefit from. Part 2 of this challenge is perfect to help me now build in another element of discipline and physicality.1 Comment -
My family and I had a wonderful weekend. We went camping and ended our trip with a hike through one of the trails in Mammoth Cave National Park. My husband already book another campsite for later this summer. We got home yesterday afternoon, we unpacked, and I even got a workout in. I started week 3 of Train with Brad.

I had been struggling so much with putting effort in to my gratitude practice toward the end of the first phase, so I have kept that practice over the reading the last two days. I’m trying to figure out why I’m feeling so apathetic toward this particular part of the challenge. It’s probably just a phase, but there are so many amazing things in the…Read More

Had a great day. Took the dogs on a long walk, then spent the day just hanging with my daughter. A good start these first 2 days and looking forward to Part 2.

Fun day today. My niece graduated HS. Then spent some time outside, yard work, which for me isn’t really work. I like it. Our pool is open so my son and his friend were here swimming.

I really want to keep up with the reading, gratitudes, meditation, and shower. I have a spreadsheet for a habit tracker and a good amount of time is used on things I want to do every day. On some days for sure I won’t be able to fit it all in. I finished my book, “Hidden Potential” by Adam Grant a few days ago, and started a new book. It is Jody…Read More

Happy day 1 (again)!
My activity was going for my daily walk! Excited for a new set of habits to stick to for June.
Most surprising thing since phase 1: I’ve kept the cold shower!

Went for a hike this morning. It was a great way to start my day. Day 1 complete.

Went on a hike today with a local hiking group. The group was a little slower than my usual pace so I had more time to look around. Day 1 done! ✅

Great walk this afternoon. Lots of babies born in our ‘neighborhood’ lately. They were all out and looking so cute. Nice evening visiting with friends at my nieces grad party too.

Almost didn’t jump on this one because I knew today wasn’t going to be perfect, and I haven’t missed anything for 30 days..
But it’s about showing up, not being perfect! Day 1 and didn’t do it all but, I’m IN!
Let’s go another 30 days!!!1 Comment -

Day 30
Very somber week, without saying too many details. Completed the challenge, I’m glad that I stuck to it despite the week.
Showing up is very powerful.
Even if you come at your messy self.
Keep showing up everyone.3 Comments-

Happy day 30 everyone! I wanted to share some wins, even though I didn’t do the 30 days perfectly:
-I put emphasis (on most) of the last thirty days to complete the tasks
-I got outside a lot more
-I was reminded of how important my fitness/self development journey is to me
-today I did a completely cold shower without starting warm

Very productive day! Got my workout in, went to appointments, met up with homeschool friends, cleaned my house, went to soccer practice, and then made a delicious dinner for my family!

Lovely lunch time walk. Im definitely a summer person, I love the heat and sun and being out in it. So many of these daily tasks for the 30 day challenge aren’t tasks anymore. They’re just a thing I do without thinking about it. Walking is definitely something I do when it’s nice out. This last winter I did force myself to go even when it was c…Read More

Day 30 🙌
Wow, I woke up today feeling empowered and excited. Not because it was the final day of the challenge but because I built and was committed to these habits. I can’t say new as I have done them before but never consistent with them. What I learned from the challenge is that I feel vibrant and happy when I do these habits. I plan to keep…Read More3 Comments-

Late night at the ballgame last night, so was a little spent today. But glad my kiddo wanted to walk with me this evening!

Day 29 done. It was windy and a little cold. Ended the evening watching my son play baseball.

I got to watch my son play too! My favorite nights are the ones at the ballpark

Ending the day walking around our neighborhood. Thankful that my three kids wanted to join me.

That’s awesome they wanted to join you! They’re seeing what you’re doing!!

Nice walk at lunch. Busy weekend coming up. My daughter is coming home tomorrow for the weekend. My niece has HS graduation and her grad party. I’m low on water for today and I’ve got the headache to prove it. So I’m trying to catch up this evening.

Took a walk right after work in my scrubs. I knew if I came home to change I wouldn’t leave again.

Yesterday started out well, then the wind and rain started. My area was hit hard, I’m not clear of there was a tornado or if it was straight line wind. My apartment wasn’t badly damaged, just a small roof leak so I’m grateful for that. Most of my to do’s didn’t get done but I’m very grateful today.

Glad everything is OK. Some days are like that, we don’t get all the things done, but we are reminded of the really big important things in life.

We are glad to hear that you are alright! Also, way to look on the bright side and practice gratitude

Day 29,
Being consistent these last 29 days has what has kept me going. There have been some hurdles throughout them but with strength and determination I was able to overcome the hurdle and stay consistent with the habits. Nothing Extreme just consistent.
The countdown is on to the final hours. What I can say is most of these days I have felt…Read More -
I have kinda fell off the wagon with my nutrition and fitness. I took a few months off of doing squats and deadlifts to allow my groin time to heal. I only have partial use of my right hand and los…Read More
