Hi, Kayla here and I’m excited to be apart of the collective. I live in Las Vegas and I am a stay at home parent to two great kids, one of which requires 24/7 care. That has led to weight gain over the last few years and buffering with food. Recently, we decided to admit her to a live in care facility. It’s been a rough transition, but the las…Read More

Hey all. I’m excited to be part of a community of like minded individuals. I heard about Brad from Mindpump. I’ve been following their programs since 2015. Brad is a great voice in a sea of BS. I’m active in the gym anywhere from 4-5 days a week depending on what program/phase I’m in. I was an avid CrossFiter back in 2014 but quit and started…Read More

Great strategy to lift with. Easy to digest video…Another topic I would be curious for your thoughts on is VO2 max. How would you rate the number our fitness tracker gives us for a good ‘in shape weight lifter’ vs the higher numbers you see for an endurance runner body type…thanks big homie!!

This is SOOoooooo helpful. I tend to go way too light to ensure I don’t hurt myself or go “too hard”. I think I worry a bit too much about form, about fearing being sore (muscle soreness and fatigue means I worked those muscles and I am BUILDING strength and health) and less about pushing myself. For years I had a trainer standing next to me for Soooo long literally taking my chosen weight away mid reps and swapping in SOoooo much heavier than I chose. Never, ever could I NOT push the weight my trainer chose. I need to get past this barrier in my mind. I have so much messaging coming at me that ‘at my age’ I am fragile or something. I am strong and I am NOT fragile. This ‘age” mentality and messaging is SO messing with me. I CAN break form a little at the end to challenge myself. I know I am not challenging myself enough. Note to Brad — PUSH MY ARSE. I need it. It is a mental battle, not a physical battle.

UncategorizedJanuary 25, 20241In the grand quest for a healthier lifestyle, we often overlook the mighty superhero in our midst—water. Yes, that seemingly ordinary liquid that fills our cups and makes ice cubes, but little do we realize it's the real MVP...
Thank you for sharing Kayla! That sounds like a challenging situation and we hope for the best. If we take the time prioritize ourselves, we can show up better for those around us. Keep up the good work, let’s make 2024 your year!
