This challenge could not have come at a better time for me – I’m really excited! Listened to the “Becoming Unstoppable” episode and it resonated so much how it’s just as important to honor the commitments I make to myself as much as to other people. Now to get brave and post my before pics…

I was going to start today, but I won’t get pictures in until tomorrow, so this is a practice post. Phew 1350 cals is not very many. I’ve been trying to eat less meat so the protein will be tough!

First day! Super excited to do a calorie deficit again and I think right at a good time. We have a challenging circumstance with Walters mom being in Hospice care. So this will keep us focused on our health, good foods and goals during a time where we may have fallen to bad foods.

Out of my comfort zone a bit by posting these but after listening to Brad’s podcast on the power of community, I realized how much of an observer I am and not much of a participant when it comes to posting and being part of a community. Looking forward to practicing more active participation in this group – and hopefully losing a couple of inches…Read More

So I remember at the end of the challenge – my starting weight is 148.4.

Anna, I am so glad you used the word “observer” haha. I am rooting you on here!

I almost used the “V” word but I felt dirty doing it so thought ‘observer’ was a better choice! 🙂

I’m with you – so not wanting to post my pictures here but if others can do it , so can I! Thanks for sharing

Nothing like making kids’ lunches in the morning and realizing how habitual BLT’s are now that I am intentionally tracking and eating…… I may have an easy time staying in a deficit just by being mindful and eliminating those alone. No licking the knife after peanut butter (which I may now be convinced I intentionally overloaded all this time),…Read More

Hey everyone I need some help. I am not used to eating anything in the morning before my workout (so not hungry) I drink a pre workout (half dose so low caffeine) during my workout every morning. But after listening to the podcast, learned a lot) I want to start eating something. Any suggestions on Where to start? Thanks in advance!
-
Sometimes I go for a banana and protein shake and for fats I’ll sometime throw in some natural peanut butter. Give it a quick shake and go! It’s a great grab and go and will fuel the workout!
-
I usually do a clementine and a special K 100 calorie bar! Not too heavy but definitely gives me a little bit of fuel! I hit the gym at 5 am so I hardly ever have a full meal before!
-
I just discovered rice crispies. I take 1/2 banana and slice it into 15g of crispies. I mix it around and eat with a spoon. No milk. I find when I workout at 6am it’s just enough to give me energy without feeling too full.
-
I really don’t like eating before a workout either so I am interested in these responses also. I just drink coffee with some almondmilk and half a scoop of Legion Peanut Butter Protein mixed in. Not sure if that counts as fuel but it’s delicious. 🙂
-
I have a hard time being consistent with eating food before. My favorite solution personally has been UCAN Energy. It’s a carb powder. Mix it up in blender bottle about 30 minutes before my workout and it gives me energy through my whole workout. I have a sensitive stomach too and it doesn ’t bloat me at all. By far my favorite preworkout fue…Read More

I usually start with a Banana and some deli turkey! it’s small enough, but helps me be able to push more in my workouts without feeling completely depleted.

I’m a nurse also and worked nights for many years, so I feel the pain. My hack was to eat the donut at Midnight so the calories could be split between the 2 days. Haha! You go girl!! <3

Anyone start the 5 day bro split yet? I plan on starting it once I’m through my current program.

I’ve done it , obviously lol, and is a great! (But I’m biased lol)

We recently had some new members in the last week. if you’re new, and I’ve not introduced yourself, drop a quick blurb on this main page and let us know who you are and what you’re hoping to get out of this community! Remember, you get what you’re willing to put in, so start now by getting vulnerable😉

Back from vacay and ready to get rolling again. I’m wondering if there’s any ab exercises anywhere? Or what the general consensus is on training abs? I just haven’t seen any focus in the training programs so I’m curious! Thanks!

Hey Cayla! I have some ab exercises that I absolutely love
Lying Leg Raises
Landmine Rotation
Plank
Cable Kneeling CrunchThe ab exercises are sprinkled in throughout the workouts in the collective

You can train abs every day, but you do not need to
I asked your question in our call this week on 3/5 which should be posted so Brad could answer this one in depth 🙂 If you want to check out the call! He answers it towards the end!
Hope that helps Cayla!

Will there be a 3 Day Split option next month?
-
We have a 3 day split available (labeled “Full Body Split”).
We will be uploading another 5 day & 4 day split today.
If you’d like a different 3 day split, let us know your input on what you are after and we can make it a priority to roll that out next!
We will also be continuing to roll out new plans.

The train with brad is a push pull legs. The 4 day will be Push, legs, Pull, Legs so you could also do that a skip the one leg day per week. Tons of options coming!

Question for anyone,
How much (grams) should one consume of Fiber in a Day? I shoot for around 30g a day. should it be less, more, right on target or depends on the person?
very curious, please help-
Hey Jeff, Brad recommends getting 15g per thousand calories at a minimum.

So I’m currently doing the four day split, which I love. I take a rest day Wednesdays but I typically still do cardio because if I don’t I won’t hit my steps. 5 days out from my competition.
I’ve been waterloading since Sunday, weight is steadily coming down but I’ve got 8 lbs to go as of this morning. I did my opening weight on my bench yesterday and it felt great. Today I’ll do my opening weight for deadlift, then I’ll deload the rest of the week and start shredding water… I hope lol.2 Comments -

I was not a fan of cottage cheese until I found this. I love ice cream and this was an easier way to cut the calories and get great protein in at night. Sweet tooth and protein with healthier choices.
